Bridges are one of the more desirable ways to replace lost teeth. They are like having multiple crown units tied together by the replacement teeth that they support. Properly done, they are an esthetic non-removable way to replace teeth. They usually involve a replacement tooth (pontic) connected to at least two supporting teeth (abutments). They can be used to replace several teeth, but as the spans of the bridge get longer, the incident of failure rates is higher.
